Nature Trail at Kiwanis

It is a network of about 3 miles of paved trail winding along the Missouri River downstream from Fort Peck Dam. It connects the Kiwanis Park Say Use Area, the Downstream Campground, and the Fort Peck Interpretive Center. It is a popular wildlife viewing area with beaver, muskrat, white-tail deer, grouse, waterfowl, shorebirds, and raptors commonly seen, and is part of the Northeast Montana Birding Trail. During the winter many bald eagles use the area below the dam as fishing grounds. Three fishing ponds are accessible from the trail, the kids only trout pond, the perch pond, and the winter harbor bass pond. The trail is also a popular exercise area for walkers, joggers, bikers, and rollerblading. No motorized vehiclees are allowed on the trail.
